This $80 Million project involved the rehabilitation of existing Northbound Garden State Parkway Bridge structures over the Great Egg Harbor and Route 9 over the Garden State Parkway. The rehabilitation included demolition of the superstructure of the Great Egg Harbor Bridge (3600 LF) and reconstruction of same on new fabricated steel and concrete bridges. Similarly, the Drag Channel Bridge (700 LF) had its superstructure removed and reconstructed utilizing new structural steel and concrete. The Southbound existing bridge was, during the reconstruction of the Northbound bridge, demolished completely to elevations at or below the ground line of the Great Egg Harbor. The Southbound Drag Channel bridge was also demolished to an elevation at or below the ground line of the Drag Channel.
