Wilmington, DE

On September 15, 2003 Tropical Storm Henri caused flash flooding along the Red Clay Creek destroying all six (6) historic bridges and displacing miles of roadbed. R E Pierson Const is under contract to rebuild these bridges. Bridge 7A "Hercules" was rebuilt from the ground up as new concrete piers were poured and new steel girders were set. By opening this bridge, it has added another 0.6 miles to the scenic Red Clay Valley route.
